general rules
• be civil & open minded
try to be respectful and not instigate arguments on the forum. we want a friendly and welcoming community here, not one that is constantly at-odds with itself. if you do anything that could be considered as attacking or flaming another member, you will be warned and possibly banned. respect is key.
• account per character
there is no limit to the amount of characters you can have, just be sure you stay active with them all. there are no post prerequisites or the like to make a new character.
• graphics
signatures are to be no bigger than 500 x 200 px. keep in mind the proboards tos. images should not contain any graphic or pornographic material.
• face claims
face claims are OPTIONAL, and can be any style that you wish! however, keep in mind that the last goodnight spans eight years, which may result in massive aging. it is recommended that if you do wish to use a face claim, you use original art THAT YOU YOURSELF HAVE DRAWN, OR HAVE EXPLICIT PERMISSION TO USE (we will be checking these things) in order to deal with your characters changing appearance.
• community
at the last goodnight, we wish to create a community of artists as well as roleplayers. the same rules apply to the art boards as they do elsewhere. keep in mind that criticism (even if it is constructive) may not be welcome unless the artist specifically asks for it. be mindful of other styles and skill levels, and it would be great if everyone made an effort to be involved. keep in mind the proboards tos; the same restrictions apply here as they do with forum graphics. keep it tasteful please.

roleplay rules
• no god modding/power playing
just don't do it.
• no mary sues/gary stus
there's nothing fun about an atypical, perfect character. unsure if your character is a Sue? try the litmus test.
• word counts
there are no word counts on the last goodnight; although we expect at least a paragraph. as an extension, i consider this role play to be free for all levels of role player; so understand that you may be posting with people who have not had as much experience as others, and vice versa.
• be tasteful
if things have to get overly mature, fade to black and take it elsewhere. while we allow violence, crime, etc, try not to go overboard. proboards does have a tos and it's a good idea to keep to it. keep things PG13; you can have fun without going beyond that!
• try not to break continuity
this site operates on liquid time. however, since the site takes place in three different times, it's a good idea to not kill off your characters in the earlier years if you have already started roleplaying in the later timelines. we don't want any time paradoxes destroying the universe!
• this is an ORIGINAL site
no characters that are carbon copied from a series or franchise. while we have borrowed some concepts from the animated series baccano!, we are not a canon baccano site.
